Restorative Nutrition
Jacob Farin, N.D.
For 8 months, Leroy struggled with exhaustion, headaches, fevers and a bout of bacterial pneumonia. His fatigue was so severe that he was almost disabled and unable to work. After a comprehensive assessment at the Center, it was determined that his severe state of depletion required a course of Intravenous Vitamin Therapy.
Intravenous Vitamin Therapy (or IV Therapy) is one of the many specialized services we provide at the Center. The goal of IV Therapy is to infuse a high dosage of vitamins and minerals for immediate use by the body. By bathing the tissues with high amounts of vitamins and minerals, we give the body the opportunity to replenish depleted stores and optimize tissue function. IV therapy also ensures that a specified amount of nutrients enters the body and takes the guess work out of what the intestines can actually absorb. As a result of bypassing the intestines, much higher levels of vitamins and minerals can be delivered to the system than what is possible with oral supplementation.
With many illnesses, ranging from the common cold to cancer and other chronic conditions, the body's nutritional requirement greatly increases and outpaces the intestines' ability to absorb adequate nutrients. The end result is nutritional deficiency, as was the case with Leroy. Nutritional deficiency as a result of illness can be further worsened if there are digestive problems present, such as diarrhea, low stomach acid, low pancreatic enzymes and bacterial imbalance.
When patients see me for IV therapy, I customize each formula to meet their individual nutritional needs. Leroy received a formula that included high dosages of vitamin C, B vitamins, magnesium and calcium. He received 5 treatments over a 7 day period. What he experienced was exactly what we were hoping for.
After the first 2 treatments, Leroy had a remarkable increase in energy. He felt as if he didn't need naps in the afternoons. By the fifth treatment, he felt like his old self again -- clear headed, energetic and healthy. He could now work a full day without any sense of exhaustion or fatigue. With IV Therapy, Leroy greatly improved his nutritional status and encountered an important turning point with his health.
Some of the many conditions in which I have used IV therapy include colds and flues, bronchitis, asthma, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, cystic pancreatitis, yeast infections, chronic viral infections, hepatitis, depression, anxiety, and heavy metal toxicity. By restoring and optimizing a patient's nutritional status, the rate of recovery is greatly enhanced.
Although many people benefit from IV Therapy, it is not for everyone. Proper evaluation is important. If you would like to know more about how you could benefit from Intravenous Vitamin Therapy, call the Center and schedule an appointment.
